The Public Health Praxis Center is both a lab and a think tank: the hub of Dr. Irfan’s education, practice, and research portfolio, and a space where science meets public policy and practice. We provide science-policy expertise, develop programs to train the next generation of scientists, scholars, and practitioner-leaders in public health, climate equity, and environmental justice, and create social change through tangible benefits to communities most impacted by structural inequities.

Embodying the values of science for action and social equity, the Center mobilizes knowledge through applied research, leadership development, technical assistance, and public programming. Our work supports and uplifts emerging leaders, builds pathways for historically excluded communities, and connects rigorous scholarship to the urgent demands of policy and practice. At the same time, we are committed to science communication and public scholarship—bridging research with pressing social and moral questions, raising public consciousness, and advancing health and climate justice as inseparable pillars of a just future.
