The USC Cultural Justice & Health Equity Expo recognizes student scholarship that directly addresses systemic inequities in health. Working as teams of emerging global health experts, students propose bold, justice-oriented interventions that advance health equity and racial justice—demonstrating both intellectual rigor and moral clarity.
The Expo is designed as part of an inclusive learning ecosystem, offering students from underrepresented and historically marginalized communities the chance to produce portfolio-ready work with lasting professional value. By integrating their projects into CVs and career narratives, students gain pathways to visibility and leadership in global health, with a particular emphasis on elevating gendered and racialized minorities. In doing so, the Expo affirms that justice in health must be paired with justice in opportunity. See a previous symposium example below.
