We are transitioning to a new backend platform. Pardon our appearance and some functionality!
The Learning Innovation Clinic, led by the Center Director, is a faculty development platform dedicated to strengthening teaching practice through mentoring and coaching. It is particularly designed to support early-career faculty as they build their pedagogical portfolios, offering individualized guidance that ensures their courses are both cutting-edge and aligned with institutional learning goals.
Faculty consultations begin with a needs assessment, followed by tailored coaching on curriculum design, assignment development, and assessment strategies. Emphasis is placed on integrating digital innovation and connecting classroom content to real-world practice, thereby equipping instructors with approaches that are both rigorous and relevant. Examples include revising environmental health and justice courses, designing innovative practice-based assignments, and creating streamlined, equitable assessments.
Beyond one-on-one consultations, the Clinic curates resources and toolkits to meet diverse teaching development needs, while also advising faculty on effective use of institutional supports such as teaching assistants. By centering mentoring and coaching, the Clinic fosters pedagogical growth, helping early-career faculty establish themselves as confident educators and leaders in inclusive, modern teaching.
