We are transitioning to a new backend platform. Pardon our appearance and some functionality!
First of its kind in the world at the time of its offering, the Climate & Health Equity Practice Fellowship pioneered climate medicine training for global healthcare workforce. The fellowship responds to the climate crisis by training physicians to bridge climate science, health equity, and systemic change. Our focus is on clinicians from historically marginalized communities—women, gender and sexual minorities, religious and ethnic minorities, refugees, first-generation physicians, and those from under-resourced backgrounds—because leadership must reflect the most climate vulnerable communities.
Through cohort-based learning, fellows build shared understanding and strategies for action: integrating climate into clinical and community practice, shaping institutional change, and positioning healthcare as a central actor in climate adaptation. The fellowship develops leaders who think beyond the individual patient to the systems that produce vulnerability and resilience.
Our Evolution
Following evaluation and community input, we pivoted toward working closely and directly with smaller clinics, community-based health providers, and public health entities—launching the ClimatexHealth Technical Assistance Initiative to support climate adaptation and resilience on the ground. This pivot shaped our model going forward.
Next Phase
In 2026, we are aiming to launch the next fellowship cohort with an expanded focus: strengthening communities of practice, advancing climate and science diplomacy, and uplifting healthcare leaders trained in climate medicine. Stay tuned!
